Christ Episcopal School students have a little extra to celebrate. They won medals in six categories at this year’s MAESA Scholars’ Fair! This annual academic competition brings together 4th-8th grade students from schools throughout the mid-Atlantic region. Organized by the Mid-Atlantic Episcopal Schools Association (MAESA) and held at St. Patrick’s Episcopal Day School in Washington, D.C., this year’s contest saw over 200 students from 13 area schools.

Though we were among the smaller schools in attendance, CES was one of the top finishers, bringing home medals in six categories:
- 2nd Place in Science Fair (7th/8th Grade)
- 2nd Place in Spelling Bee (4th-6th Grade)
- 2nd Place in Multimedia Informative Presentation (4th-6th Grade)
- 3rd Place in 2D Art (4th-6th Grade)
- 3rd Place in 2D Art (7th/8th Grade)
- 3rd Place 3D Art (7th/8th Grade)
“I always feel that our success over the years at the MAESA Scholars’ Fair clearly reflects our excellent academic program and demonstrates our holistically-focused learning” said Head of School, Nicole Stone, in a recent newsletter. “I am proud of our school’s academic track record which is also realized in the impressive secondary school acceptances that our graduates regularly receive.”
This impressive showing comes the same year that Christ Episcopal School was recognized as a winner in the Bethesda Magazine 2026 Reader’s Poll for Best Preschool, Best Private School-Lower School, and Best Private School for Art/Music. CES was also named a Finalist for Best Private School for Academics and Best Private School with Religious Affiliation.
CES graduates leave with a deep sense of their responsibilities as members of the world community.”
