Why CES

Studies have shown that students in K-8 schools perform better academically over the short term vs. traditional middle school transitions.

Older students mentor younger ones and serve as role models through chapel partners and school-wide activities. They also experience more leadership opportunities through our Student Council and Student Ambassador programs.

Students gain more confidence in their abilities because of the continuity and stability of staying with the same cohort for a longer period of time.

Students do not have unsettling transitions into large middle schools and instead enter middle school with familiar teachers and students. By the time they graduate from Christ Episcopal School, they have a strong educational foundation that will successfully guide them through high school and beyond.

More positive social environments create more positive student conduct. Positive peer pressure encourages students to make good choices and learn how to be a member of the community. We watch our students develop from inquisitive, happy, wondering Kindergarteners into confident, responsible, and inspiring eighth graders.

Students also spend a longer time together and get to know students in other grades creating a feeling of safety and belonging. Our teachers know their students wholly and personally, because our community has built relationships across the school through our chapel partner program, school-wide activities, and just day-to-day social interactions.
