Middle School students at CES in Maryland

Christ Episcopal Middle School offers its grade five through eight students a dynamic academic curriculum in an environment that builds independence, self-confidence, and leadership. With our 10:1 class ratio, CES middle school students get that extra attention and support from caring teachers needed during those vulnerable middle school years.

The student-centered, departmentalized program stresses oral and written expression, critical thinking, problem solving, and teamwork. Our Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Mathematics (STEAM) signature program encourages multidisciplinary integration allowing for creative and outside-the-box problem solving. Technology is integrated into every subject area, enhancing the performance and learning of all students, with each student working on their own Chromebooks. Organization and study skills are also an integral part of the program and intentionally taught in specialized classes.

A supportive and highly qualified faculty encourages students to stretch themselves and to seek excellence in all that they do. Teachers provide not only an interdisciplinary education, but also facilitate the development of a strong sense of ethical values which leads to self-respect and an appreciation for others. Our middle school students are leaders in the school and serve as role models to the lower school students. They graduate with confidence and leadership skills that continue to serve them throughout their educational career.
