Christ Episcopal School provides formative experiences in worship that seek to dispose students to an awareness and responsiveness to God made known in Scripture, in Jesus Christ, in creation, and in our own and others' life stories. A second aim invites community members to practice being a servant people in our own School, in family relationships and in the world around us.
Our Chaplain, Cindy Simpson, prepares daily chapel services for staff and students from grades 1 through 8, with kindergarteners joining three days per week. One service each week is led by either the parish Rector or, in his absence, the Head of School. Occasional services are led by faculty members - often times as their respective classes make special presentations.
The Chaplain also leads a weekly preschool chapel service in the preschool building. These services provide the cornerstone for nurturing our School's spiritual life. The Episcopal liturgies contained in the Book of Common Prayer set forth the worship structures consistent with children's and youth developmental stages. The School celebrates five Eucharist services each year for grades K-8.
