Christ Episcopal School
A co-ed independent Episcopal School serving students in preschool - grade 8 in historic Rockville, MD

Ways to Give

At Christ Episcopal School (CES), the act of giving is the rule rather than the exception. The benevolent gifts, which help to make CES financially stable both in the present as well as in the future, are used to support the school's efforts on behalf of the students and teachers. There are several events and giving opportunities that one can support throughout the year.

Christ Episcopal School Fund
This is the single most important gift you can make to CES each year.  The Christ Episcopal School Fund (CES Fund) touches every member of our community; it sustains our daily operations and covers the gap between tuition paid and the actual cost of a CES education. Like other independent schools, the CES budget is based on the projected generosity of current parents, grandparents, alumni, alumni families, Board of Governors, faculty, staff and friends who contribute to this fund. We rely on every member of the CES community to give commensurate with their financial ability.  No gift is too small or too large!  And all gifts are tax deductible under the law (consult your tax advisor for specifics).  Your annual gift to the CES Fund is an investment in the education of every CES student.

Diversity Outreach Scholarship Fund
The Diversity Outreach Scholarship is a need-based scholarship awarded to academically qualified students who come from a lower income status and whose race, ethnicity, or national origin comprises a significant part of the Rockville community but is underrepresented in our school. This scholarship provides not only a valuable opportunity to the recipients but also enhances the education of all our Christ Episcopal School students as they learn to value and appreciate differences in others.  In 2009 the CES community was comprised of 20% students of color; in 2015, this figure rose to 48%.  Funding for the Diversity Outreach Scholarship Fund comes from private foundations and trusts, individual gifts, and the annual CES Golf Classic.

Auction and Gala
Please save the date and join us February 5, 2016 for the Christ Episcopal School Come Sail Away Auction and Gala.  The event brings families from throughout the school together for a fun night of eating, drinking, dancing and raising money to support our students.  We will return to VisArts this year; and, Gordon Biersch will again cater the event.  No rubber chicken dinner here!!  We hope all of you will join us and bring a friend!  Last year CES raised over $85,000, and more than $26,000 to refurbish and remodel the art classroom. Your generosity will make a huge difference in the financial success of this Gala, which directly benefits the excellent educational programs at CES.

The 20th CES Golf Classic & 3rd Cardinal Cup Challenge
Join us for the 20th CES Golf Classic and 3rd Cardinal Cup Challenge, which will be held May 3, 2016 at Blue Mash Golf Course. Proceeds from the day’s event benefit the CES Diversity Outreach Scholarship, a need-based scholarship awarded to an academically qualified student whose race, ethnicity, or national origin comprises a significant part of the Rockville community, but is underrepresented in our school.  This scholarship provides a valuable opportunity to the recipient and enhances the education of all our Christ Episcopal School students.  Individual and business sponsors along with golfers join together in support of a day full of fresh air and fun with 18 holes of golf.

In 2014 CES began the Cardinal Cup Challenge.  The Cardinal Cup provides current parents, alumni, alumni parents, staff, or alumni staff an annual opportunity to compete on behalf of their own or their children’s graduating class.  A perpetual trophy recognizing the winner sits in the school’s Front Office.
