New Families

Dear Parents,

Welcome to CES! We are thrilled you are joining our school community! This page will serve as your "go to" for resources and more to make the transition to CES as smooth and easy as possible. Check back frequently as details and information are added. Call the CES Office (301-424-6550) or the Admissions Office (301-424-8702) anytime at all with questions or just to say "hello!"  Yes, even in our current virtual world, we are answering our calls.

Upcoming Events

New Families Reception - Wednesday, May 6, 2020, 6pm in the Murdock Room (Church Building) TBD

New families and their Buddy Families (current families with whom they are paired) - For new families to meet school administrators, their Buddy Families and other new families while enjoying a casual supper.

New Parent Orientation - August, 2020, 6pm in the Murdock Room (Church Building) - DATE TBD

Parents only - For parents to learn "how things work at CES", i.e. carpool, school communication, school policies, etc. Enjoy supper, and bring questions!

Meet and Greet - August, 2020 - DATE JUST BEFORE START OF SCHOOL TBD

For new and returning students to meet their teachers and see their classrooms ready for the first day of school. Visit schedule:

9:30-10am - Preschool 2's and 3's
10-10:30am - Kindergarten and 5th Grade
10:30-11am - PreK, 1st-4th Grades and 6th-8th Grades

Fun Forum - August, 2020, 9:30-11am in the Murdock Room - SAME DATE AS MEET AND GREET

Representatives of the administration will collect required school forms and registration forms for various programs (Health Forms, Emergency Form/Student Medical History, Release Form, Extended Day Registration, Enrichment Activities Registration, Milk Order, etc.).

Important Documents


Students in grades PreK-8 wear the CES school uniform per CES School Uniform Guidelines. Flynn & O'Hara is our local school uniform supplier. Families may order online at www.flynnohara.com or purchase at the retail store located at Loehmann's Plaza, 5210 Randolph Road, Rockville, MD 20852, 301-838-8958. Both the website and retail location will direct you to the Christ Episcopal School uniform guidelines.

CES uniform items are also available through Lands End at Lands' End CES Uniforms.

In addition, the CES Parents Association sells used uniforms at very reasonable prices. Periodically, a Used Uniform Sale is held. At other times, parents are welcome to borrow the key to used uniform storage and shop independently. Please call the school office to let us know you are coming so we are sure to be her to welcome and help you.

Students in grades 5-8 wear the CES PE uniform to PE classes. These items are purchased at Flynn & O'Hara.

The CES School Store (The Bird's Nest) sells CES sweatshirts and other CES items.

Health Forms & Medical Information

Medical forms, completed by a child's doctor within one year of the first day of school, are required for every incoming student. Because it often takes time to schedule an appointment with the doctor or to have the doctor complete the needed paperwork, we are directing you to the required forms now. The following must be submitted before the first day of school:

The following form is optional but must be submitted if parents wish the school to administer ANY medication at any time (even "over the counter" medication on an "as needed" basis). No medications (daily, emergency or "over the counter") can be administered without this form on file, completed by both doctor and parent:

Note: Parents of students with a significant medical issue (i.e. serious food allergy, asthma, etc.) must meet with the school's Certified Health Technician and provide all medications before the start of school. For students with emergency medications stored at school, the following paperwork (as appropriate for the medical concern), completed by both doctor and parent, must be provided with the medication(s):
