Meet Our Teachers
Mary Claire Porter, Kindergarten Teacher
I moved here from Louisiana last summer with my husband of 3 years and our dog, Carly. I taught Kindergarten and First Grade in the Louisiana public school system for four years. After many summers of working “On the Hill,” my husband, John, and I decided to move to D.C.
I knew I wanted to work with children as early as I can remember. My mother has been an educator for over 20 years, so I believe it is “in my blood.” During the time I spend outside of school, I enjoy jogging, yoga, photography, dance, reading and desserts! I love being at CES and look forward to many years in the Kindergarten room.
In addition, Mrs. Porter was recognized by the Rockville Patch as the areas “Best Teacher”.
Trevor Waddington, Director of Admission and Financial Aid
This is my second year at CES, but my 13th year in education. I began my career as a Social Studies teacher and have been working in admissions since 2004. In my spare time I enjoy sports, fly fishing, movies and spending time with my wife, daughter and our two dogs.
In addition, Mr. Waddington serves as the President of the Board of Directors of the Mid-Atlantic Episcopal School Association and the Olney Chamber of Commerce.
Marta Bou, Middle School Spanish Teacher
I’m from Chile. I accompanied my husband to this country 12 years ago and I have been enjoying teaching Spanish since then. Being a teacher allows me the wonderful opportunity to teach my own language and share my culture with my students.
I love what I do every day because I not only get to teach, but also because I am surrounded by a wonderful and supporting community of parents, staff and colleagues.
