Meet Our Parents

One of my favorite things about CES is the way every member of the community is willing to pitch in and help out. Whether it is a 4th grader on the playground with a kindergartner, an 8th grader stopping to help a new middle-schooler, or a parent taking precious time off from work to volunteer, for six years I've seen this common thread. The teachers set this standard for the whole community. Parents see their kids pick it up from their teachers. Then we all want to participate because the kids are so excited.

As a CES parent, I have learned a lot about what makes a caring community...and take comfort in knowing my daughter is learning the same.

When I dropped my daughter off at preschool, I thought she’d have a hard time separating. Actually the opposite happened. Every day we had to pry her away. She’s now in 8th grade, and it’s been like that every year in between. She and my 5th grade son, wake-up eager to get to school. It’s remarkable, you don’t hear about that kind of environment, certainly not anymore.
