Before and Aftercare
Before School Care for Preschool
Early morning care for preschool students is provided on a daily basis from 7:20-8:20 AM, and is located on the lower level of the Preschool Building. Approximately 10 preschool students attend before school care, although not all on the same day. One staff member supervises the preschool morning care, with other staff members available when needed. Children engage in free choice activities as well as fun, teacher-directed activities. A fee is charged for early morning care.
Before School Care for Lower School and Middle School
Early morning care for lower and middle school students is provided on a daily basis from 7:20-7:35 AM, and is located on the first floor of the Church Building. Approximately 2-5 students attend before school care, and one staff member supervises these students. Students enjoy socializing or reading during this time. A fee is charged for early morning care.
After School Care for Preschool and Kindergarten
After school care for preschool and kindergarten students is provided on a daily basis from 3:00-6:00 PM, and is located on the lower level of the Preschool Building. Students are given a nutritious snack, and have opportunities to engage in a variety of age-appropriate activities such as stories, table top games, dramatic play, block building and free choice, as well as fun teacher-directed activities and outdoor play on the playgrounds. Approximately 8 children stay for extended day, with an average of 5 students on any given day. One staff member supervises this care, with other staff members available when needed. Dismissal of students is from the Preschool Building, following sign-out procedures in the Dining Room of the Church Building. A fee is charged for after school care.
After School Care for Lower and Middle School
After school care for students in first-eighth grades is provided on a daily basis from 3:00-6:00 PM, and is located in the Dining Room and/or Murdock Room in the Church Building. Approximately 40 students attend the after school program at some point during the week, with 3-4 staff members on duty. A nutritious snack is provided. Students engage in supervised homework (3:30-4:30 PM) with a study hall monitor and homework assistants, followed by a variety of activities including outdoor play on the Green Top and playgrounds, sports games, board games, arts and crafts projects, cooking, and performing arts activities. Children who finish their homework prior to 4:30 PM are permitted to play outdoors or engage in other indoor activities. Depending on demand, a second study hall may be available from 4:30-5:30 PM. Dismissal is from the Dining Room with sign-out procedures in place. A fee is charged for after school care.
